Stucco in Canton

Working where we live and build

Canton has grown from a county seat with a cotton mill into a city of subdivisions, shopping centers and a busy downtown. Its stucco reflects that. Large master-planned communities built from the late 1990s on are full of stone and stucco homes, many with synthetic finishes. The commercial corridors along Riverstone Parkway and the highways carry retail centers, medical offices and restaurants with EIFS facades.

Downtown Canton is older. Brick commercial buildings along Main Street sit inside a National Register historic district, and the old Canton Cotton Mill buildings have been turned into lofts and mixed-use space. Repairs there call for mixes that work with old masonry.

Our neighborhood is twenty years old. Should we have the stucco checked?
